Discovery Health covers medicine either from the Chronic Illness Benefit or from your day-to-day benefits, where applicable.
Chronic medicine
This is medicine that you need to take on a daily basis over a long period of time. Not all medicine that is taken for a long period of time will be paid as chronic.
For us to cover a medicine as chronic, we need to approve it for one of our covered chronic conditions.

Discovery Med-Xpress
Discovery Med-Xpress is a medicine delivery service for Discovery Health members.
This convenient service allows members and adult dependants to contact the Discovery Med-Xpress call centre to order medicine over the phone and have it delivered to an address of their choice.
Discovery Med-Xpress will manage the ordering and tracking of medicines and negotiate on the members’ behalf, to ensure lower or no co-payments.
Members can choose to use this service and don’t pay for any administration or delivery costs.
