About Discovery Miles
Discovery Miles is a currency earned by DiscoveryCard holders every time they make a qualifying transaction with their Visa DiscoveryCard. Earning Discovery Miles is easy – the more you spend on your DiscoveryCard, the more Discovery Miles you will earn.
You can use your Discovery Miles in five ways:
Use your Discovery Miles pay on VitalityMall anytime day or night. You can buy products from some of the world’s leading brands like HP, Microsoft, Apple and Sony, vouchers and get 40% to 70% off leading lifestyle magazines and much more.
Use your Discovery Miles to increase the discount on your Contiki, Royal Caribbean International or World Leisure Holidays getaway, depending on your Vitality status.
Use your Discovery Miles to pay for some of your travel at Vitality’s travel partners such as kulula.com and Southern Sun.
Through SAA, you can convert your Discovery Miles to SAA Voyager Miles – for every one and a half Discovery Miles you get one Voyager Mile.
You can also convert your Discovery Miles to Avios – for every one Discovery Mile you get one Avios.
Free travel insurance
By activating the Discovery Miles benefit, you also qualify for free international travel insurance when you use your DiscoveryCard to pay for part of your international travel ticket. The DiscoveryCard travel insurance benefit covers non-medical claims such as baggage loss or delay, personal accident, cancellation and curtailment, travel delays, personal liability and much more. Keep in mind
Cardholders can activate the Fast Miles option for an annual fee of R2, 450 and earn one Discovery Mile for every R6 spent on the first R100 000 qualifying spend in each billing cycle. They will thereafter earn Miles at the normal Discovery Mile rate of one Discovery Mile for every R12 spent. No Miles are awarded for spend greater than R100 000 at any merchant.
DiscoveryCard holders earn Discovery Miles for every qualifying transaction every time they swipe their DiscoveryCard. The Miles earned are, however, limited to a qualifying spend of R100 000 per store per billing cycle.
Your Discovery Miles expire after five years from the date these Miles were earned. This applies even if you don’t have any Discovery products at the time.
