Payment of account
How to pay your DiscoveryCard
You’ll receive a DiscoveryCard statement every month. This statement gives you an account summary, as well as details about the transactions made during the past month. The account summary includes the total amount you owe, the minimum payment due, your DiscoveryCard cash back if you are a Vitality member, your available balance and your credit limit. Always read your monthly statement and keep it safe in case of any queries.
You can pay a minimum, fixed, full, statement, straight or percentage amount every month
Minimum payment
The minimum payment due is a percentage of what is owing on the straight and the budget facilities on your card e.g. Straight Facility Outstanding Balance: R500, Straight Facility Minimum Payment Due: R25 (5% of the R500), Budget Facility Outstanding Balance: R200, Budget Facility Minimum Payment Due: R200 (how calculated), Total Debit Order: R225 (R25 + R200)
Fixed amount
A fixed amount that you choose is paid into your DiscoveryCard every month. If the fixed amount that you choose is less than the minimum payment due, the debit order for that month will be increased and the minimum payment due will be deducted. e.g. Fixed Amount Selected: R200, Minimum payment Due: R250, Debit Order Total: R250.
Full payment
The full outstanding amount on your DiscoveryCard is paid every month
Statement amount
The full balance as per your last statement will be paid and will exclude any payments that you may have made since the last statement date. e.g. Statement Balance: R500, Payment Made after Statement: R100 (credit). Debit order amount: R500
Straight amount
The full outstanding amount on your straight facility is paid on your chosen payment date
Percentage amount
A percentage of the full outstanding amount on your straight facility is paid on your chosen payment date. You can select a percentage payment of between 5% and 100%
