Transformation
Discovery Holdings Limited has completed our broad-based BEE verification as at 30 June 2011. We have seen a consistent improvement in our BEE transformation process over the last few years, with our scores steadily improving. We have set targets to improve our scores, specifically in the areas of Employment Equity and Skills Development.We have refined our strategy around ourPreferential Procurementpractices and we are closer now to achieving maximum points on this element.
Discovery regards the BEE targets as minimums and we ensure that transformation and sustainability remain key components of our overall business strategy. The wheels have been set in motion to live the transformation that is so vital to the future of South Africa.
Our overall score of 80.56 defines Discovery Holdings as a level three (3) contributor according to the DTI Codes of Good Practice. This equates to a 110% recognition level, meaning that for each R1 spent by a client with Discovery, R1, 10 could be claimed towards that client’s B-BBEE scorecard under the Preferential Procurement element.
