Get dedicated IT services at no additional cost

To enable you to adapt to new ways of working, we give you access to a dedicated IT support desk managed by AVeS Cyber Security, at no additional cost. This provides you with the necessary expertise to help you resolve IT issues quickly to minimise interruptions to your business. This value added service is essential for businesses of all sizes, especially SMEs, who may not always have access to these services at an affordable rate.

You get access to IT services such as assistance with:

  • Installing applications
  • Server access

Get access to capital through our partnership with Merchant Capital

Since the start of the COVID-19 lockdown levels, many businesses have seen a reduction in sales especially small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This often results in loss of revenue and constraints on cash flow. To help you manage your business during these trying times and avoid business failure, we give you access to capital. We also offer you unique rewards for meeting your repayments.

Access to capital

You can get a cash advance of up to 80% of your monthly turnover generated from debit or credit card sales, if you meet the qualifying criteria. This will depend on your profile and how your turnover has been affected by COVID-19.

To qualify for the cash advance, you must:

  • Have at least twelve month’s trading history
  • Accept debit and credit card payments
  • Have minimum card turnover of R30 000 per month
  • Have at least one South African citizen as a business owner

You can get up to 50% of your premiums back for meeting your repayments

You can also get up to 50% of your business insurance premiums back (limited to R5 000 monthly premium) if you are in good standing with your cash advance repayments. Merchant Capital will determine whether you are in good standing with your repayments or not.

To qualify for the cash back, you must:

  • Be in good standing with Merchant Capital on repayments, as determined by Merchant Capital.
  • Have an active Discovery Business Insurance plan.
  • Be up to date with their premium payments and have not missed more than two premium payments in the past 12 months.

You can qualify for a premium cash back of 15% to 50% depending on the amount of your cash advance and your monthly premium. To qualify for the cash back, you must have a minimum cash advance of R50 000, as detailed in the table below:

The cash back is calculated as:
cash back = cash back percentage x monthly premium x 12 (where monthly premium is limited to R5 000).

The cash back is available on a single loan facility for cash advances taken out between 1 July and 31 December 2020.

Introducing cover for businesses working from home

With our COVID-19 enhancements, we provide cover to protect your business if your employees are working from their homes, as well as cover to protect your business premises while you are working remotely.

Protect your business while your employees are working from home

We will automatically extend your existing cover on certain sections to all employees’ home addresses. This helps to keep your business protected while employees work from their homes during the COVID-19 lockdown levels. We will extend cover for the following sections to all employees’ home addresses:

  • Electronic equipment
  • Office contents
  • Storage of stock
  • Theft
  • Public liability

Protect your business premises while you are working remotely

To make sure that your business premises remains protected even if it’s not occupied during the alert levels of lockdown, we will waive the unoccupancy clause under the Fire and Buildings Combined sections. This means that cover is not automatically suspended after 30 days of the business premises being unoccupied. In addition, you will not be liable to pay the 20% portion of a claim that is usually required during the unoccupancy period.

We will also automatically include the loss of water by leakage optional extension to all plans with cover under the Fire and Buildings Combined sections. So, if there is water leakage and you are not at the business premises to detect or stop it, you will be covered up to the limit stated in the Plan Guide.

Validity of the cover for businesses working from home

The cover for businesses working from home will apply during lockdown level 5 to level 2, or until 31 December 2020, whichever is sooner. You will receive an additional two weeks’ grace period of cover to allow your business’ assets to be returned to the insured business premises.

The cover for businesses working from home will not be available if your business is operating as usual at the insured business premises again. Clients will receive an additional two weeks’ grace period of cover after returning to business-as-usual, to allow the business assets to be returned to the insured business premises.

Tailored cash back during the COVID-19 lockdown

Many businesses have changed the way they operate, leading to a reduction to the business risk. Therefore, we will share the savings earned from reduced risk by giving you premium cash back on certain sections of cover. This makes sure that you pay a premium that matches your risk and provides cash flow assistance during this time. You will receive a monthly cash back on your premium as follows:

The premium cash back percentage will be applied to your premiums from June 2020 and it will be paid during level 5 to level 2 of lockdown, or until 31 December 2020, whichever is sooner. The cash back will be paid in the second week of the following month.

Dynamic Distance cash back

As a result of the COVID-19 lockdown levels, many businesses have adjusted the way they work and allowed their employees to work from home. This has reduced the mileage driven by business vehicles. As part of our shared-value model, we will reward you for driving less during lockdown.

Get up to 25% cash back on monthly motor premium during lockdown levels

Vitality Drive for Business clients who drive less during the alert levels of lockdown will earn up to 25% cash back on their motor premium every month. This benefit is available for vehicles insured under the Motor or Goods in transit section. The cash back percentage will depend on mileage driven as follow:

In addition, you will still earn the standard Vitality Drive cash back of up to 30% of your motor premium every year based on your driving behaviour.

We will apply the Dynamic Distance cash back on your  premium from May 2020 premiums and it will be paid during the various COVID-19 levels (until we revert to the usual pre-COVID-19 level or until December 2020, whichever comes last).

For the Goods in transit section, we will apply the Dynamic Distance cash back on your premium from June 2020 premiums and it will be paid during the various COVID-19 levels (until we revert to the usual pre-COVID-19 level or until December 2020, whichever comes last).

The Dynamic Distance cash back will be paid in the second week of the following month.

We have enhanced our cyber offering to give you additional protection against the increased cyber risk exposure businesses are facing in the modern world. You can now get the Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Office 365 package which provides anti-phishing, anti-spam and anti-malware protection, as well as attachment filtering, which lets you set up rules to filter what types of email attachments to allow and block on their mail server.

You can get this security package at no additional cost for the first six months and at a 30% discounted rate thereafter. This service is available at no additional cost for the first 50 users per insured business.

As a special offer, clients whose insurance cover starts between 1 July and 31 December 2020 will get the Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Office 365 at no additional cost for 12 months for five users per insured business.

Get access to digital platforms that enable seamless collaboration

You can also get access to the Microsoft Office 365 Business Basic package which includes online access to Outlook and Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint to help you and your staff work remotely.

You get access to this package at no additional cost for the first six months and at a 20% discount rate thereafter.  AVeS Cyber Security will also provide the necessary support services to help you set up the Microsoft Office 365 Business Basic package. This service is available at no additional cost to the first 50 users per insured business.
