Product knowledge is the name of the game

Working at the Discovery Institute of Training (DIT) means you have a great deal of product knowledge as well as know the various compliance considerations, which are constantly changing.

It's amazing how Robert manages to remember all these highly technical details in addition to all of his student's names considering the fact that he is blind.

"I get on with life and make the most of it. Because of my disability, I think I inspire others. For me it is just living life as best I can"

The business of getting it done one student at a time

Despite not having much ability to do many of the things seeing people consider as normal, Robert manages to go about his day with so much positivity and friendliness and never complains about his situation. Robert definitely rises above the ordinary. He lives the Discovery values for everyone to see and he is an active healthy ambassador of our core purpose and an inspiration for all our eight values.

Motivated to succeed

Roberts embraces each and every day as it comes and he sees himself as no different to others. To him he views it as having challenges just like other people have, only that his are more visible. He defies gravity by simply just getting on with life and making the most of the challenges he is facing with optimism and a positive attitude to life.

"I work in a team that is extremely supportive which makes my job easy. Living the Discovery brand and values keeps me motivated."

A man with a great plan and a positive outlook on life

He inspires everyone who crosses his path and all you have to do is sit in his class room or walk with him through the Gautrain station to see the impact this man has on seeing people who may feel like life is asking too much of them.
