How do I register for myrun?

Visit www.myrun.org.za to register your profile using your South African ID or passport number. During registration, remember to indicate that you are a Vitality member to automatically receive your fitness points when you complete a myrun event.

Purchase a Vitality timing band and select the venue where you will be attending your first myrun event to collect your Vitality timing band.

When you complete the registration process, you will receive a confirmation email from myrun with a unique QR code. You must present a print or digital copy of this code when collecting your Vitality timing band.

Go to the registration table at your pre-selected venue and present the myrun volunteer with your QR code, collect your Vitality timing band and the volunteer will link it to your profile.

Complete the run and tap your Vitality timing band against the correct reader at the finish line (either the 2.5 km or 5 km reader). This will record your race distance so you are awarded your Vitality points.

What you need to know

Vitality members earn fitness points for completing either the 2.5 km or the 5 km route. You can earn up to 100 points for the 2.5 km distance or up to 300 points for the 5 km distance. However, some myrun venues only offer the 5 km route. Please check each venue’s information on the myrun website before you attend an event. The different distances will be clearly marked.

We will award your points as long as your Vitality timing band is linked to your myrun profile, and you have tapped your Vitality timing band against the correct reader at the finish line after each myrun event.

Vitality points will take up to three days to reflect on your Vitality Points Monitor on the Track and earn points page.

If you've already reached your maximum fitness points for the year, you will not earn additional points for completing a myrun event. However, you will still earn points towards your weekly Vitality Active Rewards goal.

You do not need to manually link your myrun profile with Vitality. Simply indicate that you are a Vitality member during the registration process, link your Vitality timing band to your myrun profile and scan your band at the finish line. Your points will be automatically awarded.

If your Vitality timing band is lost or stolen, you will need to replace it by purchasing a new band on the myrun website. You can choose to collect it from your nearest myrun venue. You will be asked to pay the online replacement fee, when linking the new device to your myrun profile.

Vitality can only award your fitness points once this linking process is complete.

You may have many Vitality timing bands linked to your profile at any given time, but only one can be used to earn points. Timing bands cannot be exchanged or linked to other people’s myrun profiles.
