Protecting your PIN
- Try and memorise your PIN and avoid writing it down on a piece of paper.
- Make sure you keep your PIN a secret and in a separate place from your card.
- When you use your card to pay for goods or services you must sign a transaction voucher and/or enter your PIN depending on the merchant's specifications.
- Never give your PIN for your card to anybody.
- When using your card at an ATM enter your PIN in a way that no one can see it.
- If someone stands too close at an ATM and you feel like they are watching you end the transaction and draw money from somewhere else.
- Change your PIN and online passwords regularly.
- Remember that any transaction made using your PIN, even if it is reported lost or stolen, cannot be recovered.
