Updates to the Dynamic Distance cash back benefit

In a previous communication, we announced the extension of the Dynamic Distance cash back so that your clients can continue to receive premium relief to help ease the effects of COVID 19.

Dynamic Distance cash back is one of our tailored COVID 19 benefits that gives clients access to cash that they can use to meet business needs. Since the start of lockdown, clients have earned over R3.5 million in tailored cash back.

Through the Dynamic Distance cash back, Vitality Drive for Business clients who drive less during the lockdown period earn cash back on their vehicle premium every month.

  • Clients who drive less than 250 km in a month will get 25% of their monthly Motor or Goods in transit premium in cash back.
  • Clients who drive from 250 km to 499 km in a month will get 15% of their monthly Motor or Goods in transit premium in cash back.

In addition, clients can still earn the standard Vitality Drive for Business cash back of up to 30% of their vehicle premium every year based on their driving behaviour.

Driving levels have mostly reverted to the usual pre COVID levels. However, we recognise the positive impact that a low mileage benefit can have on businesses which are not yet operating at full capacity. That is why we continue to offer the Dynamic Distance cash back to clients. However, with the president's recent announcement on moving the country to alert level 1, we expect driving activity to increase even further. We are, therefore, updating the Dynamic Distance cash back benefit to reflect this environment.

We will continue to pay the Dynamic Distance cash back until the end of 2021. The last cash back will be based on mileage driven in December 2021 and we will pay this in mid January 2022.
