Smart banking is all about smart service a nd security. Your smart notifications help you stay informed because you can easily access updates from us in your Discovery Bank app. And it's not just convenient for you, it's safer too.

Because this feature is built into the banking app, you can be sure the notifications you receive are legitimate and you won't receive any malicious links.

Tap any push notification you receive from us, and your banking app will open to take you directly to the notifications screen. The most recent push notification will open the screen with the latest app notification at the top.

Your notifications screen shows all the notifications you've received, arranged by category. You can easily keep an eye on your day-to-day transactions, see when your debit orders go off, track your Vitality Money Financial Analyser budget, read about new app features and updates, and more.

2 quick wins to make the most of smart notifications

1. Firstly, don't worry if you missed an update

We categorise and store all the notifications we send to you in your app. So, if you dismissed a notification before you could read it or want to follow up on a transaction you completed, simply log in to your banking app and go to the notifications screen. Tap the envelope icon at the top right or tap More > Notifications. There, you'll have access to your full history of notifications.

You'll also be able to see all your notifications for in-app authorisations made using the app, so you can track your online transactions.

2. You can control how you receive notifications

Get notifications how and when you want them. You can now choose what channels you'd prefer, with the option to switch off email notifications for transaction updates.

You can also enable silent notifications during set times in the app for all non-critical notifications. Transaction and fraud-related notifications won't be silenced.

In your banking app, tap the gear icon (settings) on the notifications screen and go to Notification preferences to set yours up now.

How to switch on notifications

Remember to always have the latest version of the Discovery Bank app on your phone and switch on notifications in your phone's settings. Here's how to do it:

iOS

1. Open Settings on your phone.
2. Go to Notifications.
3. Find and tap on Discovery Bank.
4. Turn notifications on.

Android

1. On your smartphone's home screen, open Settings.
2. Tap Apps, Applications, or Applications Manager.
3. Find and tap on Discovery Bank.
4. Tap on Show Notifications if it's not on already.

HUAWEI

1. On your smartphone's home screen, open Settings.
2. Tap on Notifications.
3. Find and tap on Discovery Bank.
4. Set the slider to Allow Notifications.
