Depositing cash is easy

Skip the bank queues and bank as you do your everyday shopping. You can easily deposit cash directly into your credit card or transaction account using the linked debit or credit card at any Pick n Pay and Boxer till nationwide.

How to deposit cash

To deposit cash, simply visit your nearest Pick n Pay or Boxer store, head over to a till and tell the cashier you want to deposit cash into either your Discovery Bank transaction or credit card account. Then, follow these instructions:

1. Tell the cashier that you are making a deposit and not a payment.
2. Insert your card into the pay point machine and enter your PIN. If you use your Discovery Bank debit card, you can only deposit into your transaction account. If you use your Discovery Bank credit card, you can only deposit into your credit card account.
3. Hand over the amount you want to deposit.

And you’re done! The cashier will give you a slip confirming the deposit.

Remember that you don’t need a payment code or account number to deposit cash at Pick n Pay or Boxer store tills. Your Discovery Bank cards are linked to your cards and accounts, which makes depositing cash more convenient. If in doubt, please make sure that the teller understands you want to make a deposit, not a payment.

Each deposit costs R19.95, and you can deposit up to R5 000 at a time.
