Witkoppen Health and Welfare Centre

Established in 1946, the Witkoppen Health and Welfare Centre was established in response to the lack of healthcare facilities in the surrounding communities of Diepsloot, Kya Sands, Lion Park and Cosmo City. The centre was established to ensure that residents of these communities have access to a high quality and comprehensive medical facility and excellent primary and preventive healthcare services.

Over 330 000 people live in these communities, and the centre has a strong, well-structured, holistic approach to healthcare delivery and offer a host of services ranging from pediatric care, antenatal care, family planning, a TB clinic, a wellness clinic for women, a dental clinic, a HIV/AIDS clinic, ARV provision, and services for mental health issues facing children and families. In addition to these services, the centre has a pharmacy, a dietician laboratory, a mothers and vulnerable children project and social welfare services.

The centre is focused on high impact interventions, specifically to support the Department of Health to expand access to HIV/AIDs treatment. The centre has been a trusted partner of the Gauteng Department of Health for 25 years.
