Each of the millions of COVID-19 vaccines administered to the South African public to date, is proof of the explosive power that results when our nation's people unite, bringing their minds, hearts and spirits together to navigate great challenge and uncertainty.

In March 2020, shortly after the first person was diagnosed with COVID-19 in South Africa, business leaders met with President Cyril Ramaphosa to offer support. Business for south africa (b4sa) was established to allow for a single coordinated and impactful approach to COVID-19, and to ensure our country's place in the global vaccine race. We provided extensive support and expertise for the national vaccination programme. This included setting up nine private sector vaccination sites across the country to supplement capacity (through which 1 million vaccine doses were administered to the public by january 2022).
