If you meet all your weekly Vitality Active Rewards exercise goals for 24 months, Discovery Vitality will fund your Apple Watch Series SE GPS or Apple Watch Series 10 GPS in full. If you don't meet your exercise goals, your selected Discovery Bank credit card will be deducted by a monthly penalty amount that is calculated as a percentage of the retail price at time of collection.

For example, the table below is based on a retail price of R9,899 for Apple Watch Series SE GPS (40mm) or Apple Watch Series 10 GPS (42mm). If you didn't meet all your exercise goals in a particular month, your Discovery Bank credit card will be deducted by up to R412.46 a month for 24 months (pricing subject to change). If you achieved three of your four Vitality Active Rewards exercise goals that month, just R206.23 would be deducted due to your engagement in Vitality Active Rewards.

Follow these easy steps to claim your Apple Watch:

1. Download or update to the latest version of the Discovery app to your iPhone. Then log in on your iPhone or here on the website.
2. Navigate to 'Vitality Active Rewards' and select 'Apple Watch'.
3. Click on the 'Get started' button. Please note: Only one member per Vitality Health policy can activate this benefit and get Apple Watch Series SE GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm or Apple Watch Series 10 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm every 24 months.
4. Follow the process as instructed by confirming your details and paying a non-refundable R1,199 activation fee using your qualifying Discovery Bank credit card. The non-refundable activation fee will be deducted from your qualifying Discovery Bank credit card within the next 24 hours.
5. As a Vitality 65+ member we will refund your activation fee of R1,199 in full. This will be paid into your qualifying Discovery Bank credit card that the activation fee was deducted from. You can only qualify to get the activation fee back in its entirety once in your lifetime.
6. If you have more than one Discovery Bank primary accountholders on your policy, the activation fee and the monthly penalty amounts, if applicable, will be automatically deducted from the relevant Discovery Bank primary accounts. Should you wish to change the credit card used for deduction purposes, please call Discovery Bank on 0800 07 96 97.
7. If a member already has an active Vitality Active Rewards with Apple Watch benefit, they do not qualify to activate the benefit again to get Apple Watch Series SE GPS or Apple Watch Series 10 GPS.
8. Once you have paid your R1,199 activation fee, you will get a digital proof of payment, which you can access any time on the Discovery app.
9. Use your proof of payment to collect your Apple Watch Series SE GPS or Apple Watch Series 10 GPS at your nearest iStore. It cannot be used online.
10. If you'd like to select a different model or size, you need to pay the price difference upfront at the iStore.
11. Your proof of payment is only valid for 90 days from the date of issue. After 90 days, it will expire. You will then need to activate the benefit again for an additional R1,199 non-refundable activation fee.
12. Your R1,199 activation fee will not be refunded if you do not redeem your proof of payment or if your proof of payment expires.
13. Vitality 65+ members can only get the activation fee back in its entirety once in your lifetime. Should your proof of payment expire, you will need to activate the benefit again for an additional R1,199 non-refundable fee.
14. If at any stage you are no longer eligible for this benefit, your proof of payment will be forfeited and cancelled.

Please note: If you wish to trade-in your current Apple Watch, you can contact iStore directly. If you choose to go directly to the iStore and trade in your current Apple Watch without paying the remaining costs still owed on your current Apple Watch, you will still be under obligation to pay the applicable monthly penalty deduction.

You are not able to transfer the Vitality Active Rewards with Apple Watch benefit to a dependant on your Vitality Health policy.

Gifting my Apple Watch benefit.

If you gift your Apple Watch to someone else, your personal Vitality Active Rewards exercise goals will still be used for this benefit. This means that if you don't meet your commitment to achieve all your weekly Vitality Active Rewards exercise goals for 24 months, it will be considered a breach of your warranty and your qualifying Discovery Bank credit card will be deducted monthly, as applicable.

Vitality 65+ members can get an Apple Watch where you will get the full activation fee of R1,199 back when you sign up for this benefit. You can only get one Apple Watch and get the activation fee back in its entirety once in your lifetime.

To qualify for this benefit, you must:

• Be on a full Vitality programme
• Be the main member, spouse or adult dependant the Vitality membership
• Be 65 years or older
• Have an iPhone XS or more recent model iPhone and the latest version of iOS to use Apple Watch
• Be a primary accountholder or secondary cardholder, that meets certain qualifying criteria which includes, but is not limited to, having a Discovery Bank credit card linked to a qualifying Discovery Bank product. Qualifying Discovery Bank products include:
  • A Discovery Card account
  • A Discovery full banking suite
• Have the linked Discovery Bank or previous Discovery credit card must be in good standing as defined here.
• Have a qualifying Discovery Bank credit card that must have a credit limit of at least R15,000 and an available balance of at least R5,000 after paying the R1,199 Apple Watch activation fee and when you collect your Apple Watch from iStore and minimum qualifying spend of R3,000 in the previous calendar month's spend.
