Vitality Active Rewards gives Vitality members weekly rewards for getting active. Now you can choose to get an Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm, or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm and use it to achieve your weekly Vitality Active Rewards Exercise goals. If you have a qualifying Discovery Bank Suite in good standing and meet all four of your weekly Exercise goals in a month, your monthly penalty amount for your Apple Watch will be funded in full.

You must be the primary accountholder of a Discovery Bank Suite that is in good standing.
Your Discovery Bank credit card must have a limit of at least R15,000, an available balance of at least R5,000, and a minimum qualifying spend of R3,000 in the previous calendar month, excluding the R1,199 Apple Watch activation fee.
New Discovery Bank clients and existing Discovery Bank clients who upgrade to a Discovery Bank Suite account are required to have transacted with their Discovery Bank credit card for at least th ree months to be eligible to activate the Apple Watch benefit.

Fund your Apple Watch in full by reaching your weekly exercise goals over 24 months

Reach your monthly Vitality Active Rewards exercise goals to fund your Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm, or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm in full over 24 months. If you don't meet your exercise goals, your qualifying Discovery Bank credit card will be deducted by a monthly penalty amount that is calculated as a percentage of the retail price of the Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm, or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm at time of collection (pricing subject to change).

How do I qualify for this benefit?

The Vitality Active Rewards with Apple Watch is applicable to Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm, or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm.

You can select a different model or size by paying the difference upfront at the iStore. Apple Watch is earned over a 24-month period.

To qualify for this benefit:

You need iPhone 11 or a later model, including the iPhone SE (2nd generation or later) to use Apple Watch and latest version of iOS.
You must activate Vitality Active Rewards. If you haven't yet activated it, do so today by downloading the latest version of the Discovery app and clicking on Vitality Active Rewards under 'Vitality'.
You must be the primary accountholder of a qualifying Discovery Bank credit card that is in good standing.
Your Discovery Bank credit card must have a limit of at least R15,000, an available balance of at least R5,000, and a minimum qualifying spend of R3,000 in the previous calendar month, excluding the R1,199 Apple Watch activation fee. You can request a limit increase by contacting Discovery Bank on 0800 07 96 97.
New Discovery Bank clients and existing Discovery Bank clients who upgrade to a Discovery Bank Suite account are required to have transacted with their Discovery Bank credit card for at least three months to be eligible to activate the Apple Watch benefit.

Only the main member or spouse or an adult dependant on a Vitality Health policy qualify for the benefit. In order to qualify for the benefit, the member must be the primary accountholder of a Discovery Bank credit card.
Pay a non-refundable activation fee of R1,199 with your Discovery Bank credit card.
You can get one Apple Watch per Vitality Health policy in a 24-month period.
The Vitality Active Rewards with Apple Watch benefit does not include Apple Watch 1, Apple Watch Series 1, Apple Watch Series 2, Apple Watch Series 3, Apple Watch Series 4, Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Series 10 or Apple Watch Ultra.
If you activate the benefit, you can redeem your voucher for Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm, or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm.
If a member on a policy already has an active Vitality Active Rewards with Apple Watch benefit, other members on the policy do not qualify to activate the benefit again to get Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm, or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm until the member with an active benefit has either reached the end of the 24 months, or they have paid the remaining cost owed on their current Apple Watch and the benefit is then cancelled.

Is there a monthly fee that I need to pay for the Apple Watch?

If you meet all your weekly Vitality Active Rewards exercise goals for 24 months, Discovery Vitality will fund your Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm, or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm in full. If you don't meet your exercise goals, your selected Discovery Bank credit card will be deducted by a monthly penalty amount that is calculated as a percentage of the retail price at time of collection.

For example, the table below is based on a retail price of R9,899 for Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS (40mm) or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS (42mm). If you didn't meet all your exercise goals in a particular month, your Discovery Bank credit card will be deducted by up to R412.46 a month for 24 months (pricing subject to change). If you achieved three of your four Vitality Active Rewards exercise goals that month, just R206.23 would be deducted due to your engagement in Vitality Active Rewards.

How do I get my Apple Watch?

Follow these easy steps to claim your Apple Watch:

Download or update to the latest version of the Discovery app to your iPhone. Then log in on your iPhone or here on the website.
Navigate to 'Vitality Active Rewards' and select 'Apple Watch'.
Click on the 'Get started' button. Please note: Only one member per Vitality Health policy can activate this benefit and get Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm every 24 months.
Follow the process as instructed by confirming your details and paying a non-refundable R1,199 activation fee using your qualifying Discovery Bank credit card. The non-refundable activation fee will be deducted from your qualifying Discovery Bank credit card within the next 24 hours.
If you have more than one Discovery Bank primary accountholders on your policy, the activation fee and the monthly penalty amounts, if applicable, will be automatically deducted from the relevant Discovery Bank primary accounts. Should you wish to change the credit card used for deduction purposes, please call Discovery Bank on 0800 07 96 97.
If a member already has an active Vitality Active Rewards with Apple Watch benefit, they do not qualify to activate the benefit again to get an Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm, or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm.
Once you have paid your R1,199 activation fee, you will get a digital proof of payment, which you can access any time on the Discovery app.
Use your proof of payment to collect your Apple Watch Series SE 3 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 40mm, or Apple Watch Series 11 GPS Aluminium Case Sport 42mm at your nearest iStore. It cannot be used online.
If you'd like to select a different model or size, you need to pay the price difference upfront at the iStore.
Your proof of payment is only valid for 90 days from the date of issue. After 90 days, it will expire. You will then need to activate the benefit again for an additional R1,199 non-refundable activation fee.
Your R1,199 activation fee will not be refunded if you do not redeem your proof of payment or if your proof of payment expires.
If at any stage you are no longer eligible for this benefit, your proof of payment will be forfeited and cancelled.

Please note: If you wish to trade-in your current Apple Watch, you can contact iStore directly. If you choose to go directly to the iStore and trade in your current Apple Watch without paying the remaining costs still owed on your current Apple Watch, you will still be under obligation to pay the applicable monthly penalty deduction.

Can I transfer my Apple Watch?

You are not able to transfer the Vitality Active Rewards with Apple Watch benefit to a dependant on your Vitality Health policy.

Gifting my Apple Watch benefit.

If you gift your Apple Watch to someone else, your personal Vitality Active Rewards exercise goals will still be used for this benefit. This means that if you don't meet your commitment to achieve all your weekly Vitality Active Rewards exercise goals for 24 months, it will be considered a breach of your warranty and your qualifying Discovery Bank credit card will be deducted monthly, as applicable.
