After the three months at no cost, you can decide to start paying the monthly gap cover premium or cancel the policy. Standard waiting periods will apply as per the product terms and conditions. The 3-month free premium special offer is only available for Discovery Health Medical Scheme members who have not had an active gap cover policy with any insurer within the last 90 days.

In-hospital specialist claims

Provides cover of up to 100% of the medical scheme rate

Hospital admission

Helps ease the financial stress of a hospital stay. If you're on the medical scheme's Active Smart Plan and need a procedure that is not a Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB), the Discovery Gap Active plan covers the R7,750 deductible you would have to pay. This is if you still have funds available in your overall yearly Gap Cover limit.
