Paying for healthcare has never been easier

In 2022, with Discovery Pay, if you're a Discovery Health Medical Scheme member you can integrate payments for medical bills across your medical scheme benefits and other funding sources for healthcare, including savings and credit facilities with Discovery Bank.
You can instantly settle any outstanding co-payments at participating GPs, pharmacies, hospitals, pathologists, radiologists and other healthcare providers directly from your linked Discovery Bank account.
Simply link your Discovery Pay or Discovery Bank card to your Discovery Health Medical Scheme membership through the Discovery Bank app, and any future qualifying co-payments will automatically be settled.
Easily settle medical expenses by activating Health Pay today
Discovery Health Medical Scheme members can activate Health Pay today by logging into the Discovery Bank app and simply:
- Tap More from the bottom menu
- Tap Health Pay
- Link your Discovery Bank card to your Discovery Health Medical Scheme membership.
You will also need to set a limit to a maximum amount for your automatic payments.

Look out for enhancements coming in 2022 to Discovery Pay
First, we gave Discovery Bank clients clients the ability to pay other Discovery clients using just their cellphone numbers, and to seamlessly settle their medical aid co-payments at pharmacies, hospitals and laboratories. And soon, clients will be able to use Discovery Pay to settle payments at over 6 400 doctors, as well as to Pay as you Gym with Vitality at Virgin Active and Planet Fitness facilities across the country.

Discovery Health Medical Scheme members will soon have access to a Discovery Pay account, with no regular monthly fees, by downloading the Discovery Bank app.
Keep track of your healthcare spend
You can get an overview of all your healthcare spend with an interactive dashboard in the Discovery app. The dashboard will allow you to view your monthly healthcare expenses grouped by health professional categories and source of funding.
Earn additional Discovery Miles
For accountholders of a Discovery Bank Card Account or a Discovery Bank Suite, you also earn Discovery Miles for your health payments with Discovery Pay! You'll earn Discovery Miles at the same rate as you'd earn on a normal credit card transaction.
These healthcare benefits and more for Discovery Health Medical Scheme members will be available in the first quarter of 2022. Look out for more communication from us when these features become available.
