Your Discovery COVID-19 vaccination journey

Our Discovery COVID-19 Vaccination Navigator is here to guide and support you on your vaccination journey. After you register on the national Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS), use our navigator to book for your vaccination at a Discovery-managed site near you.

Your vaccination journey

Click on each step to see what it entails

Step 1: Get vaccine ready and register for your vaccination

Register on the national Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS), when your age group is eligible.

Automatic registration with the EVDS through our COVID-19 Vaccination Navigator is no longer available and so please ensure that you are registered on both platforms. Our Vaccination Navigator will let you know where you are in the vaccination queue and support you to book for your COVID-19 vaccine when you are eligible.

Step 2: Book for your vaccination

When it's your turn to be vaccinated, we will send you communication inviting you to book for your vaccination at a Discovery-managed site convenient to you. If you have booked your vaccination at a Discovery site and you receive an SMS from the EVDS with your vaccine code and the location of your vaccination site, we recommend that you continue with the booking you made with us.

If you can no longer make your appointment with us or prefer the EVDS booking, please cancel your booking through our COVID-19 Vaccination Navigator here.

Step 3: Get your vaccination

On the day of your vaccination, here is what you can expect:

  1. Make sure you have your appointment confirmation from either Discovery or EVDS, identity document or passport, and medical scheme membership card on hand. It is important to note that you will still be able to register if you do not belong to a medical scheme.
  2. Once you have registered, you will be seated in our waiting area. Please stay seated until it's your turn to be vaccinated.
  3. Move to your vaccination station where you will complete a short pre-vaccination medical questionnaire and grant consent to be vaccinated. The vaccinator will then administer your vaccine.
  4. Relax in our observation area and enjoy the podcasts, videos and other content we have curated for you to enjoy. You will need to remain here for a minimum of 15 minutes, and we'll let you know when you are able to leave.

Our COVID-19 Vaccination Navigator will help you to create a digital version of your vaccination card for safe keeping.
