Africa School of Missions Clinic

Africa School of Missions (ASM) was established in 1984 as a missionary training centre in White River, Mpumalanga. In 1988, ASM expanded its services and started a school of health. The main activities of the school are a three-year ministry development programme, a one-year auxiliary nursing programme, and a mobile clinic, which provides healthcare services to the rural communities in and around White River. The organisation restructured in 2017 to establish the ASM Clinic as a separate entity.

The clinic aims to provide quality health services to the local community and provide support to the public healthcare system to reduce morbidity and mortality rates in the areas surrounding White River. The Discovery Fund supports the ASM Clinic in White River which provides a full spectrum of medical care for infants, children, adolescents and adults. Services include a well and sick baby clinic, acute medical care to older children and adults, antenatal care, family planning, chronic medical care, specialist would care, health education, and HIV and AIDS counseling, care and support.

The ASM employees empower patients by teaching them how to look after themselves and be healthy. The Discovery Fund has supported the ASM for a number of years including funding for the operational costs of the rural healthcare clinic in White River
