Emergencies are stressful - getting help shouldn't be. With Discovery 911, Discovery Bank clients can get roadside, home, or medical emergency assistance at the tap of a button, anytime. Find the feature under the Log in button of your banking app screen.

Emergencies don't wait - and now, you don't have to either. Discovery 911 is a new app feature that gives eligible Discovery Bank clients instant access to critical emergency support. Whether you're dealing with a burst pipe, locked out or broken down, or need help with an international medical emergency while travelling abroad, help is right on your banking app's login screen.

Discovery 911 is an emergency toolkit available right from your banking app. It offers fast access to a range of helpful services.

From

  • the inconvenience of a flat tyre or a dead battery when you're out and about,
  • to the concern over an unexpected plumbing or electrical fault at home,
  • or the outright distress of a medical emergency

The best part?

You don't even need to log in.

To use Discovery 911, you must:

  • Be an eligible Discovery Bank client with accounts in good standing
  • Have at least R1,000 available in a non-savings account.

What kind of incidents are covered under Discovery 911?

Roadside Assist Home Assist Medical Emergency Support
  • Jump starts (excluding parts)
  • Flat tyre changes
  • Car unlock help
  • Towing if your vehicle can't start or unlock.
  • Plumbing, electrical and locksmith emergencies
  • External door lockouts
  • Covers call-out + 1 hour labour.
  • National ambulance dispatch
  • International medical emergency support
Limit: 2 incidents a year per client. Limit: 3 incidents a year, up to R3,000 total (including outbuildings). No limit on requests: Costs covered by medical aid or billed to you.

Things to know before you tap

  • Discovery 911 is only available through the Discovery Bank app (not the website).
  • It's not available to secondary cardholders or savings-only banking clients.
  • If you're not a Discovery Insure client or have used up your limits, fees may apply - but you will always be informed beforehand.
  • International medical emergency cover is available to members of qualifying Discovery Health Medical Scheme plans - KeyCare plans are excluded.
  • We may share your location and personal details with providers to help them find you faster.
