GirlCode is a registered NPO founded in 2014 as a women-only hackathon to address the inequality and gender gap in tech. Today, GirlCode is creating a network of women who are highly skilled in software development and leadership through:

• The GirlCoder club, an after-school online coding club designed to spark primary and high school girls' interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) careers.
• An annual GirlCode Hackathon across the country every Women's Month.
• Online bootcamps or accredited skills programmes for people with or without qualifications or experience in IT.
• A 12-month accredited NQF level-5 systems development learnership to prepare women who are unemployed for the world of work in the tech industry.
