How can I get involved?
Discovery Bank clients with a Suit, Credit Card Account, Transaction Account or the Điscovery Account get 48-hour early access to the Virgin Active HYROX Johannesburg race. Early access starts at 12 pm on Monday, 16 March 2026, ahead of the public sale on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.

What is HYROX?
HYROX is global fitness race which held over 90 global races with over 150,000 athletes and 100,000 spectators, making it truly the World Series of Fitness Racing. But you don't have to be a professional athlete to do HYROX: it's designed to be a challenge for everyone.
Accommodating both professional athletes, and everyday fitness enthusiasts, HYROX consists of 8 functional movement stations with a 1 km run in between. The stations include SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmer's carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.
What else do I need to know?
You can enter as a solo competitor in the HYROX Open/Pro category, team up with a partner in HYROX Doubles/Double Pro category or take on the challenge as a squad in the HYROX Relay category. Here are where our perks come in:
- Get training: You can book a class at officially recognised HYROX TRAINING CLUBS on Vitality Fitness in the Discovery app and earn 100 Vitality points a day. Plus, power your performance with up to 8 free workouts a month based on your Vitality Health status.
- As a Discovery Vitality member, you can earn 100 to 600 Vitality points for competing in official HYROX race events. Your Vitality points should reflect on your Vitality Points Tracker within four days of completing a HYROX event.
