1. Up to 50% off your next car seat purchase

Car seats for young children have been proven to reduce the risk of serious injury and even death in the event of an accident. By buckling up your children, you aren't simply keeping them still and comfortable in your car, you're also ensuring their safety. Our car seat benefit ensures the safety of your most precious cargo, your children and helps you choose the appropriate car seat for your children. As a Discovery Insure client with Vitality Drive, you can get up to 50% off the purchase price of a car seat with our partners Born Fabulous and Toys R Us.

Your discount amount is dependent on your Vitality Drive status at the time you make your purchase:

• Blue: 20%
• Bronze: 25%
• Silver: 30%
• Gold: 35%
• Diamond: 50%

You can access this benefit in five simple steps and in the most convenient way: through the Discovery app or website.

• Step 1: Access your Discovery Insure profile through the website or the app.
• Step 2: On the Discovery website, navigate to the Car and home insurance tab and click on Other rewards and benefits. On the Discovery app, click on the Discovery Insure tab.
• Step 3: Here you'll find the Discounted child car seat benefit. Select this and then click or tap to activate the benefit.
• Step 4: Once the benefit is activated, a wiCode will be sent to you. The code is valid for 12 months
• Step 5: With your wiCode, you can now find the best qualifying car seat for your child on the Born Fabulous or Toys R Us websites and use it to redeem your voucher discount when you make a purchase.

Important things to note about your discount voucher:

• To qualify for the discount, your Vitality Drive membership must be active.
• The discount voucher is only for the purchase of car seats and no other products or accessories.
• The annual discount is available only for a primary driver.
• The 12-month period begins on the date the first voucher is received.
• The voucher is usable on partner-determined qualifying car seat products only.

From July 2021, you also get access to our new car seat replacement benefit, where Discovery Insure will provide a replacement car seat from Born Fabulous and Toys R Us following a motor vehicle accident, at no additional cost. This means you can continue to keep your children safe once you get back on the road.

Quick tips to ensure your child is safe in your car

• Always ensure that you buckle up your little ones in a properly installed car or booster seat - even for short trips. Accidents can still happen during a short trip of just a few kilometres, and even when travelling at slow speeds.
• Never travel with a child on your lap.
• Don't share a seatbelt between more than one child at once. Each child should be individually strapped in.
• Ensure that you use a seatbelt to restrain an older child who can comfortably sit back against the car's seat with their knees bending comfortably over the edge.
• Always use a car seat that is appropriate for your child's age and size.
• To make the harness more effective, remove a thick coat. Instead, you can use it as a blanket over the child if it is a cold day.
• Check the harness and ensure that it is secured at the correct height setting (in other words, shoulder height) and is not twisted.
• Install a rear-facing seat on the back seat - this also helps to prevent injury form front airbags which inflate on impact.
• Keep loose items in the vehicle safely stowed away. On impact these can easily become dangerous projectiles.

2. Get up to R750 off your Uber rides every month

Sometimes, you need an alternative means to reach your destination safely and the Uber benefit is one such way you can practice safer road use and be rewarded for doing so.

You can enjoy up to 25% off your Uber rides when you've activated this benefit giving you a maximum discount of up to R750 off your Uber trips every month. The activation process is quick, easy and done in just four steps.

How to activate the Drive Me partner benefit for Uber rides

On the Discovery app:

• Step 1: Open the Discovery app and navigate to the Car and home insurance tab and then the Drive Me benefit section. Select Uber.
• Step 2: Tap Activate to proceed to the Uber website.
• Step 3: You will then be directed to the Uber login page. Complete your details as directed and you will be given an OTP.
• Step 4: Accept terms and conditions and you will be redirected to the app where you will be able to view your activation details.

On discovery.co.za:

• Step 1: Access your Discovery Insure profile through the website.
• Step 2: Once logged in, navigate to the Car and home insurance tab and click or tap on Other rewards and benefits.
• Step 3: Click on Drive Me discounts tab to Learn more about Uber driving services.
• Step 4: Select Activate the benefit.
