Help ease the water shortage crisis in the Eastern Cape with Vitality MoveToGive

Discovery Vitality has partnered with Gift of the Givers to help support drought relief efforts in the Makhanda area. We invite you to be a part of this through Vitality MoveToGive.

The town of Makhanda (formerly known as Grahamstown) in the Eastern Cape has for months been facing a looming water crisis, and is now on the verge of ’Day Zero’. 80 000 people have been without water for several days as the main Settler’s Dam outside the town sits at a mere 13% capacity. Only 3% of this water is usable due high silt levels in the bottom 10%.

The municipality and residents are using water tankers and bottled water to compensate but the shortfall is significant.
