Fight hunger with the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Vitality MoveToGive

Always remember - 18 July is Nelson Mandela Day

This historic month, Discovery Vitality has partnered with the Nelson Mandela Foundation to raise funds to fight food insecurity (where people have no reliable access to enough affordable, nutritious food). In all nine provinces across South Africa, the Nelson Mandela Foundation aims to plant a million fruit trees and will support vegetable gardens at schools, early childhood development centres and communities. The aim is to address the challenge of food security, while reducing our collective carbon footprint in an effort to build sustainable futures for generations to follow.

From 14 July to 18 August 2022, Vitality members can donate their Discovery Miles to this worthy cause in the Discovery app.

You can help support families with your Discovery Miles

Get active, drive well and spend responsibly to act against poverty and food insecurity this month.

When you achieve your Vitality Active Rewards goals, you can donate your Discovery Miles to the Nelson Mandela Foundation through Vitality MoveToGive in the Discovery app.

• For 380 Discovery Miles, you can donate a vegetable Garden in a Box^TM and help a a family of four feed themselves for a month.
• For 750 Discovery Miles, you can contribute towards the planting of indigenous fruit trees at underprivileged schools.
• For 2,400 Discovery Miles, you can donate a vegetable Garden in a Box^TM kit to help a family of six feed themselves for 6 months..

To donate to Vitality MoveToGive, all you have to do is:

1. Activate Vitality Active Rewards in the latest version of the Discovery app.
2. Achieve your exercise, drive or money goals to earn a play on the gameboard.
3. Pick a tile on the gameboard to reveal Discovery Miles.
4. Spend your Discovery Miles on Vitality MoveToGive charity donations.
