Any additional adults on a Vitality Health policy earn a maximum of 25 000 Vitality points per year

For the additional adult dependant aged 18 years or older on a family membership, we have lowered the amount of points needed to contribute towards the family status.

Understanding the points limit for additional dependants

The number of Vitality points needed to reach Bronze, Silver and Gold Vitality status was lowered at the start of 2020. A single member needs 7 500 points to get to Bronze, 25 000 points to get to Silver and 40 000 points to get to Gold.

Members can also reach Diamond Vitality status in a single year by earning 50 000 Vitality points. This means that member health and fitness outcomes are now directly related to Vitality Health status.

Additional adults 18 and older on a family membership need to earn half of a main member’s or spouse’s points amount to help maintain the Vitality status. This is because these adult dependants on the policy are generally elderly parents or adult children.

The points limit ensures that all members on the policy earn points in a fair and relevant manner. It also makes sure that the status attained by the family is realistically based on the health outcomes of all members.

When an additional adult dependant reaches their 25 000 Vitality points limit, their points will no longer add up towards the family status. However, if that member is doing fitness activities and is on Vitality Active Rewards, they will continue to close their exercise rings and earn Discovery Miles.

As the main member on a family membership, you can keep track of the points earning activities of all members of your family at all times with the Vitality Points Tracker.
