Vitality HealthyFood and HealthyCare updates for 2026

Everything you need to know to maximise your Vitality HealthyFood and HealthyCare rewards as we move into the second half of 2026.

Activate your benefits todayCompleting Vitality health assessments to maximise rewards
You must find out your Vitality Age and complete a Vitality Health Check to get up to 25% back on your HealthyCare qualifying purchases. This update will now match how you are rewarded for HealthyFood qualifying purchases.
If you complete only one of the two assessments, you will continue to earn 10% back at both partners until both assessments have been completed. HealthyCare rewards will no longer increase to 15% if you complete one assessment only.
Your reward percentage will be yours to earn
To help the whole family understand their health and take steps to improve it, we're updating how HealthyCare works and aligning it to your HealthyFood benefit.
From September this year, each person on your Vitality membership must complete both the Vitality Age assessment and the Vitality Health Check every 12 months to maximise their own reward percentage for HealthyCare.
This includes the main member, spouse, and dependants aged 18 years and older. So, depending on the status of each person's Vitality health assessments:
- People on the same Vitality membership may have different reward percentages.
- Each member's reward percentage will apply to their respective qualifying transactions, in the order that they're received.
- Each member must meet the rewards qualifying rules as well as the minimum qualifying spend rules.
New: first received, first rewarded
Previously, we calculated HealthyFood and HealthyCare rewards based on the main member's purchases first, followed by the spouse and then dependants on the membership, in line with spend requirements.
However, the main member isn't always the one doing the shopping, and we believe everyone should be rewarded fairly for choosing healthy items.
We've already adjusted how we calculate your HealthyCare rewards and, from September 2026, we'll calculate your HealthyFood rewards in the same way: based on when we receive qualifying transactions from our partners.
It doesn't matter who's shopping, at which partner they make the purchases, or whether it's in-store or online - the first transactions received will be rewarded first to the member who made those purchases.
In summary:
- The order in which qualifying transactions are received will determine who gets rewarded in your family. Current monthly spend limits will still apply.
- Each individual member will receive Ðiscovery Miles based on their individual qualifying purchases.
- The reward percentage that applies is based on whether the partner is the primary or secondary partner.
What you need to spend to earn rewards
From September 2026, you'll earn HealthyFood and HealthyCare rewards when you spend a total of R200 or more each month on qualifying items. This applies to:
- Both single and family memberships
- At each of your HealthyCare partners, which is calculated separately
- On each of your HealthyFood in-store and online partner channels, which is calculated separately.
Be sure to swipe or scan your partner loyalty cards linked to Vitality via your South African ID or passport number every time you shop so that we can receive your transactions and reward you for it.

Scan the MyDifference digital card in the Woolies app when you shop in-store. For online, app and Woolies Dash purchases, make sure you're logged in to your Woolies app to earn rewards. Find out more.
