Vitality benefit updates for 2026
Love living life with Vitality and getting rewarded for it? Here's everything you need to know to maximise your rewards as we move into the second half of 2026.
If you're already making healthy choices to earn your Vitality rewards, keep an eye out for updates coming in the second half of this year. They'll help make sure you keep getting maximum value every time you shop for the products you already love.

Activate your benefit todayFirst received, first rewarded
Previously, we calculated your HealthyFood rewards based on the main member's purchases first, followed by the spouse and then dependants on the membership, in line with spend requirements.
We've noticed that the main member isn't always the one doing the shopping, and we believe everyone should be rewarded fairly for choosing healthy items.
From September 2026, we'll calculate your HealthyFood rewards based on when we receive qualifying transactions from our partners. It doesn't matter who's shopping, at which partner they make the purchases, or whether it's in-store or online - the first transaction received will be the first one rewarded.
The order in which qualifying transactions are received will determine who gets rewarded with Ðiscovery Miles. Current monthly spend limits will still apply.
What you need to spend to earn rewards
From September 2026, you'll earn HealthyFood rewards when you spend a total of R200 or more each month on qualifying items. This applies to both single and spousal memberships and on each of your HealthyFood in-store and online partner channels, which is calculated separately.
If you enjoy HealthyCare rewards through Discovery Bank, the same R200 monthly minimum spend will also apply to your HealthyCare rewards at each of your partners. This is calculated separately to your HealthyFood purchases.
Be sure to swipe or scan your partner loyalty cards linked to Vitality via your South African ID or passport number and pay using your qualifying Discovery Bank card every time you shop so that we can receive your transactions and reward you for it.
Join Woolworths MyDifference by 30 June 2026
Woolworths WRewards and MySchool cards will soon stop working. Join the new Woolies MyDifference loyalty programme today and keep enjoying your rewards and benefits. To ensure uninterrupted HealthyFood rewards at Woolworths, download or log in to the Woolies app, select the Loyalty tab, and follow the prompts to join Woolworths MyDifference.
Scan the MyDifference digital card in the Woolies app when you shop in-store. For online, app and Woolies Dash purchases, make sure you're logged in to your Woolies app to earn rewards. Find out more.
