Step up. Give back. Help your school win a share of R100,000 with #VitalityGive2Move!
Every child deserves the chance to run, play, and chase their dreams - but not all have the shoes to do it. That's why Discovery Vitality, in collaboration with the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture and Afrika Tikkun, is calling on schools across South Africa to join a national movement to collect 100,000 pairs of pre-loved running and sports shoes for children and adults in need.
For many children across South Africa, a pair of decent shoes isn't just comfort - it's freedom. It's the ability to walk to school, join a sports team, for talent to be discovered or to simply play and be active. Your old shoes could be the start of a new adventure for someone else!
We're calling on learners, parents and teachers to dig into their cupboards and donate gently worn running or sports shoes. Each pair becomes a step toward helping someone else thrive - and every pair donated brings your school closer to winning a share of a R100,000 cash prize!
How does it work:
Registered schools will be divided into two categories based on size: those with less than 1,000 students and those with 1,000 students or more. The school in each category that collects the most shoes will win R50,000 (Terms & Conditions apply).
How to Get Involved
- 1. Register your school to participate in the #VitalityGive2Move initiative by completing this online registration form:
- 2. Detailed instructions on how the initiative works as well as a digital comms toolkit, will be sent to your VitalityGive2Move school champion - including deadlines, details on shoe tracking, promotional material, shoe drop off points and mandatory submission requirements.
- 3. Donate your pre-loved running shoes by cleaning them as best you can, tying the laces together as a pair and dropping them at your school's collection point.
- 4. Encourage your classmates, friends and family to do the same. The more shoes your school collects, the better your chances of winning.
