How can I get involved?

Discovery Bank clients with a Suit, Credit Card Account, Transaction Account or the Điscovery Account get 48-hour early access to the Virgin Active HYROX Cape Town race. Early access starts at 12 pm on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, ahead of the public sale on Thursday, 29 January 2026.

To get pre-sale access, follow these steps:

3. Choose your tickets - 1 athlete ticket per person
4. Pay with your Discovery Bank card at checkout. 

Please note that during the 48 hour early access period, only payments made with a qualifying Discovery Bank card will be successful. Using the link and attempting to pay with any other card will result in an unsuccessful purchase.

What is HYROX?

HYROX is global fitness race which held over 90 global races with over 150,000 athletes and 100,000 spectators, making it truly the World Series of Fitness Racing. But you don't have to be a professional athlete to do HYROX: it's designed to be a challenge for everyone.

Accommodating both professional athletes, and everyday fitness enthusiasts, HYROX consists of 8 functional movement stations with a 1 km run in between. The stations include SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmer's carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.

What else do I need to know?

You can enter as a solo competitor in the HYROX Open/Pro category, team up with a partner in HYROX Doubles/Double Pro category or take on the challenge as a squad in the HYROX Relay category. Here are where our perks come in:

• Get training: Vitality members can book up to 24 free workouts a year with Vitality Fitness. There are 20+ SA-registered HYROX training facilities on the Vitality Fitness network. Plus, you can earn 100 Vitality points a day when you exercise for 30+ minutes.
