Expanding opportunity through school football in Cape Town
Discovery is proud to partner with the Wynberg Freedom Cup Soccer Tournament, reinforcing our commitment to inspiring healthy, active lifestyles among young South Africans through sport.
The Wynberg Freedom Cup, presented by Discovery, takes place in Cape Town from 30 April to 3 May, bringing together some of the country's most promising school football talent while marking an important expansion of the Discovery School Soccer programme.
Set against the backdrop of Wynberg Boys' High School - a venue with a strong sporting heritage - the four day event will see 56 school teams compete across under 15, under 17 and under 19 age groups, reinforcing Discovery's commitment to youth development, healthy communities and well structured school sport.

Format: Group stage matches, followed by knockout rounds for the Semi-Finals and Finals.
Age Groups: Under 15, under 17 and under 19
Matches will be played daily, with schools competing in a high energy festival of football that celebrates both competitive excellence and sportsmanship.
Recognising excellence: Discovery Bank u19 Man of the Match
Discovery Bank is the proud sponsor of the U19 Man of the Match award. Each u19 Man of the Match winner will receive a R1,000 cash prize, recognising individual excellence while reinforcing the value of discipline, effort and smart decision making both on and off the pitch.
An expansion of the Discovery School Soccer programme
