THIS is how we build a nation of champions. Together.

Thank YOU for every move you made, every tap you tapped, and every netball and rugby ball you donated to empower and inspire generations of girls and boys to get active, chase their dreams and achieve their goals.
Discovery, helping to create a healthier South Africa
Discovery is devoted to keeping people of all ages healthy and active and empowering communities through sport.
Because as South Africans, we know what it takes to create champions. We know the grit and determination that flames in every beating heart. We know that we can win, no matter the odds.
And through the Vitality MoveToGive and Discovery Bank TapToGive initiatives, we mobilised the Discovery family to unite behind sports development in South Africa.
Goal achieved! Thank you for helping us #ChangeTheGame
In 2023, Discovery Vitality members and Discovery Bank clients:
Moved
Tapped
And tapped some more... (500,000 times!)
And together, we donated 10,000 netballs and 5,000 rugby balls to give our future stars a sporting chance. Thank you for helping us change the game of sports development in South Africa and inspiring generations of girls and boys to get active, chase their dreams and achieve their goals.
The following organisations will receive the balls during the official Discovery Sponsorships handover event on 22 February 2024 at Thembalethu Primary School in Soweto:
- Netball South Africa: the governing body for netball in South Africa which is responsible for overseeing the practice of the sport across the country.
- Dreamfields: a non-profit organisation that uses the power of sport, including finding and coaching the next generation of netball stars, to create better schools, more opportunities and stronger communities in rural areas and townships across the country.
- Tag Rugby® Association: a non-profit, public benefit organisation registered with the Department of Social Development and an associate member of the South African Rugby Union (SARU) that develops grassroots youth sport programmes.
- VUKA Rugby: a sustainable rugby programme developed by the South African Rugby Legends (SARLA), in partnership with SARU, that aims to develop and promote rugby in disadvantaged communities and areas where it is not being played.
- South African Deaf Rugby Association: an associate member of SARU that supports deaf and hard of hearing youth, men and women, and creates opportunities for them to play rugby regionally and internationally.
