In 2024, Checkers will be added to the Vitality HealthyFood benefit!

Since its introduction into the Vitality programme in 2009, the Vitality HealthyFood benefit has succeeded in making healthy choices more affordable, driving behaviour change and ultimately resulting in better health outcomes for our members.

Grocery delivery has become increasingly popular with South African households since the COVID-19 pandemic, becoming a part of the weekly routine for many and influencing who you are choosing as your grocery retailer.

So, in 2024, we're enhancing the HealthyFood benefit by introducing Checkers and Checkers Sixty60 as a new Vitality HealthyFood partner.

More rewards than ever before

The HealthyFood benefit will also be upgraded to give members the choice of BOTH an in-store and an online primary grocery partner. This means that you can get up to 25% back on healthy food items bought at an in-store partner and a different online partner to maximise your HealthyFood rewards. You will get up to 10% back from the other partners.You can boost these rewards by up to 75% with Discovery Bank.

More good news... the overall HealthyFood rewards are also increasing. Families can now earn rewards on up to R5,000 spent on healthy food items every month, up from the current R4,000 maximum, and individuals now earn rewards on up to R2,500 spent on healthy food items, up from the current R2,000 maximum.

The addition of Checkers and Checkers Sixty60, as well as the new benefit structure, goes live late in 2024. Communications will be sent out closer to the time detailing everything you will need to know about the benefit. Next year there will be no more excuses to shop and eat healthier!
