That's how many lives Goodbye Malaria was able to protect in 2022 in South Africa, Mozambique, and eSwatini of which 312,661* were children under the age of five.

Goodbye Malaria started in 2013 as a social benefit organisation with the ultimate goal of eliminating malaria by 2030. Every minute, a child dies from malaria, with 80% of annual malaria deaths being among African children under five.

You can help change the narrative. Together we can say goodbye, tchau-tchau, hamba kahle, totsiens to malaria. Because no one should die from a mosquito bite.

How can you help? It only costs R80 to protect a life through indoor residual spraying. And this summer, as the mosquitos start buzzing in our ears, you can donate your Discovery Miles to Goodbye Malaria through Vitality MoveToGive in the Discovery app.

Support Goodbye Malaria with your Discovery Miles

Achieve your weekly exercise, drive or spend goals through Vitality Active Rewards to earn Discovery Miles.

You can then donate your Discovery Miles to Goodbye Malaria through Vitality MoveToGive in the Discovery app:

• For 250 Discovery Miles (that's only R25), you can contribute towards the spraying of homes to prevent malaria transmission in high-risk areas in Southern Africa
• For 850 Discovery Miles (that's only R85), you can provide rapid testing and comprehensive malaria treatment to a person in need.
• For 1,600 Discovery Miles (that's only R160), you can donate 20 rapid diagnostic tests to help in the diagnosis of malaria in Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

The campaign will run from 1 November 2023 to 6 December 2023 and the Discovery Fund as well as Nando's will match all donations through Vitality MoveToGive.

3. Pick a tile on the gameboard to reveal Discovery Miles.
