Vitality Active updates in 2025

We're here to make it easier for you to get active, create healthy habits, and enjoy the rewards of healthy living. Next year, you can look forward to a wider range of new facilities in the Vitality Fitness network; an enhanced Vitality Active Rewards journey; unmissable deals in the Vitality Mall and more.

Your Vitality Active monthly membership contributions for 2025:  

• 1. Vitality updates for you and your family

We're looking forward to an exciting year ahead and can't wait to support you on your healthy journey.  

• Keep an eye out for new fitness facilities joining the Vitality Fitness network, with more exercise types and classes available in the Discovery app. Plus, get 2 free workouts a month (up to 24 a year) at any fitness facility on the network.  

• 2. Vitality Active Rewards

• Vitality Active Rewards goals are becoming more dynamic and responsive to get more members engaged. In 2025, Vitality Active Rewards also makes taking the first step easier for members starting their fitness journey. You can earn 25 points for walking between 2,500 and 4,999 steps, to help you reach your first weekly goals. These points won't count towards your Vitality Health status but will help you achieve your weekly Vitality Active Rewards goals. Find out more.

• 3. Ðiscovery Miles

• In 2025, the remaining rewards currently paid as cash backs will be paid in Ðiscovery Miles, our rewards currency that's more valuable than cash.
• Your HealthyCare rewards (available specifically to Vitality Active members on the Discovery Health Medical Scheme) for purchasing qualifying items at Clicks or Dis-Chem will continue to be paid as partner loyalty points if you do not have a Discovery Bank account.

• 4. Rewards and payments: HealthyFood and HealthyCare

• We're evolving the way we pay out your rewards. Your HealthyCare transactions will be processed in the order they were received and your rewards will be paid before the 15th of the following month. This will also apply to HealthyFood rewards in 2025. (available specifically to Vitality Active members on the Discovery Health Medical Scheme or Vitality Active members with a qualifying Bank account and Vitality Money).
• Make sure you maximise your rewards in 2025. Each month, to receive rewards for any in-store HealthyFood partner, online HealthyFood partner or HealthyCare partner, you must spend at least R150 on qualifying items at that partner. Families will need to spend at least R250 on qualifying items at that partner across the policy (available specifically to Vitality Active members on the Discovery Health Medical Scheme or Vitality Active members with a qualifying Bank account and Vitality Money).

• 5. Gym benefit

• Enjoy 75% off your monthly local club membership every month. Plus, tap to join the gym in the Discovery app at a once-off gym activation fee equal to one month's full retail rate for each adult 18 years and older as well as a club access tag or card fee per person. In 2025, keep your eyes on our social channels for special offers on the gym activation fee.

• 6. Team Vitality

Looking for a supportive community of runners and cyclists? Join Team Vitality, South Africa's most rewarding running and cycling club. You can look forward to incredible races, rewards and hospitality. Contributions for 2025 are: 

• Team Vitality Running Club: R599
• Team Vitality Cycling Club: R1,155
• Team Vitality Combo: R1,754

• 7. Benefits ending in 2025

• We launched the Virtual Vitality Health Check during the COVID-19 pandemic and will end it in January 2025. If you can't get to a doctor or clinic, you can book a Vitality Health Check at Home and we'll bring it to you in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Midrand, Durban and Cape Town.
• From January 2025, Vitality members will no longer earn Vitality points through Technogym, Zwift and Handicap Networks Africa. However, you can still earn Vitality points by tracking your workouts with your wearable fitness device. How to link your device to Vitality.
