Donate through Vitality MoveToGive to help with disaster relief in Knysna and the Western Cape

Knysna has been battered by raging fires and Cape Town has been affected by a severe storm this week. Homes have been destroyed resulting in thousands being displaced and people have lost their lives. Several areas have been evacuated and additional first responders have been deployed into the Western Cape to assist.

In light of this, Vitality MoveToGive is working with the Western Cape Disaster Relief Fund to help support the victims and the first responders in disaster affected areas of the Western Cape. From 9 June 2017, you will be able to choose Vitality MoveToGive instead of your usual reward, to donate towards helping displaced and injured people, as well as first responders. Achieve your goal next week to donate through Vitality MoveToGive until 22 June 2017.

Please ensure that you have updated to the latest version of the Discovery app to ensure that you can participate in this initiative.

This Vitality MoveToGive donation drive is part of various Discovery initiatives to help with disaster relief in the Western Cape. The Discovery Fund have contributed R750 000 to Gift of the Givers.

A Joint Operations Centre was established with Netcare911 to assist any Discovery members impacted by this disaster. We are now in the process of reaching out to the whole Discovery community – an SMS is being sent to all Discovery clients notifying them to contact Discovery 911 on 0860 999 911 should they or their loved ones require any assistance, including food, transport or temporary accommodation.
