Support mental health for children while achieving your goals with Vitality MoveToGive
Worldwide 10-20% of children and adolescents experience mental disorders. You can make a difference through good driving and exercise.
The mental and emotional health of children and adolescents is just as important as their physical health. All children deserve adequate treatment for mental health conditions so that they can develop into healthy adults that live up to their full potential and contribute positively to society. Left undetected or untreated, mental health conditions in a child can have serious negative effects - not only on the child, but also on those around them.
This is how you can make a difference
By getting active or driving well you can help to address mental health in underprivileged children and adolescents. From 28 November to 18 December 2018, convert your Vitality reward points on the Discovery app to support Vitality MoveToGive when you achieve your fitness or drive goals. Your MoveToGive contribution will go towards improving access to mental health services such as counselling as well as art and play therapy sessions for children and adolescents in Johannesburg and Soweto.
These vital mental health services will be provided by the Johannesburg Parent and Child Counselling Centre, which works tirelessly to ensure that all children and their families have access to therapeutic assistance to deal with their daily challenges.
Download the Discovery app to track your fitness or drive activity, achieve your goals and donate to this important initiative.
